Marilynn Chadwick is passionate about sharing the love of God with anyone who will listen—from the skeptic to the serious follower of Jesus. However, back in her college days, Marilynn didn’t even believe in God and commented she would “never become a Christian, and never, ever marry a minister.”

 

God must have laughed—because she and her husband David recently celebrated 47 years of marriage and ministry together. They currently serve Moments of Hope Church, where David is the Senior Pastor. They have three grown children and ten grandchildren.

 

Marilynn earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Georgia and an M.A. in Counseling from UNC Charlotte. She recently completed an M.A. in Christian Practice from Duke Divinity School. In addition to over forty years of local church ministry with David, Marilynn has worked with various urban ministries and has had extensive overseas missions experience, with travel on six continents and eleven countries in Africa. She founded Seeds of Hope, a non-profit that provides education for kids with big dreams but lacking in resources.  

 

Marilynn is the author of Sometimes He Whispers, Sometimes He Roars: Learning to Hear the Voice of God and Eight Great Ways to Honor Your Husband. Her most recent book is Woman of Valor. “When I discovered the Hebrew translation of the famed Proverbs 31 virtuous woman is woman of valor,” Marilynn says, “I just had to write about her!”

 

Marilynn believes women today are losing wars we should be winning—for our families, our communities, and our world. “In four plus decades of ministry,” she adds, “I’ve never seen so many broken marriages, wayward children, or exhausted women.” That’s why she founded Women of Valor, an outreach to women at Moments of Hope Church. She invites women of all ages and stages to join her on a quest to discover the courage and strength God has given us as women—and how He has equipped us to be world-changers who find our life as we give life away.
